Neither Vice President Kamala Harris nor former President Donald Trump has established a clear advantage in Georgia and North Carolina, according to new CNN polls conducted by SSRS. In Georgia, likely voters are nearly evenly split, with Trump at 48% and Harris at 47%. Similarly, in North Carolina, Harris leads slightly with 48% compared to Trump’s 47%. Both results fall within the margin of error, indicating no definitive leader.
These states are pivotal in the upcoming presidential election. North Carolina has historically leaned Republican, having voted for Trump in 2020 by a narrow margin. Meanwhile, Georgia, which flipped for Joe Biden in 2020, is also highly contested, marking a significant shift in its electoral landscape.
Polling shows stability since previous surveys, with 95% of likely voters indicating they have made their decisions. Early voting trends reveal that over half of voters in both states have already cast their ballots, showing a preference for Harris by slight margins.
As the election approaches, both candidates face a closely contested environment in these critical battlegrounds.
